MEET THE PRACTITIONER

Alexis Ellis, NCCMT

Alexis founded The Whole Hound after being certified in canine massage therapy through the National Board of Certification for Animal Acupressure and Massage (NBCAAM) in 2025. Alexis completed her studies of canine massage therapy through Canis Bodyworks. After adopting her cats Crush and Julius in 2019 and her dog Socrates (Socs) in 2021, Alexis became deeply involved in volunteering in animal rescue. After Socs sustained an injury that required rehabilitation, Alexis was inspired to make a career change to a path where she could work hands on with dogs full time.

Alexis is trained in many types of canine massage therapy, including Swedish massage techniques, manual lymphatic drainage, scar tissue massage, myofascial release, trigger point work, post-surgical massage techniques, as well as canine acupressure.
